Media and Entertainment Skill Council identifies city-based Shasun Jain College for Women as a Centre of Excellence

Media and Entertainment Skill Council (MESC) supported by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Government of India, recently (November 14, 2018) signed an MoA (Memorandum of Agreement) with city-based Shri Shankarlal Sundarbhai Shasun Jain College for Women to establish Shasun College as a Centre of Excellence in Media, Entertainment & Communication and Art & Culture. Mr. Mohit Soni, COO, MESC signed the MOA with the Secretary of the College, Shri S Abhaya Kumar Jain in the presence of the Chief Guest Mr.Subhash Ghai, Chairman, MESC and Film Director, Producer, Screenwriter and Educationist.  Padma Bhushan Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam, President, Nrithyodaya Chennai was the Guest of Honour.

“The approval by the MESC to grant a Centre of Excellence in Media, Entertainment & Communication to Shasun College only takes forward the ambitions and aspirations of both the institutes to realize the dream of making India the Skill bank of the World by 2022,” said Mr. S Abhaya Kumar Jain and further added “various courses on aspects of Film Making like Directing, Photography, Lighting, Make up Skills, courses on Gaming, Animation and Visual Effects are on the anvil.   The Centre of Excellence in Art and Culture will offer courses on the theoretical & practical dimensions of dance, music & theatre, covering the entire range from classical & folk to the small & big screen.”

MESC strives to Develop National Occupational standards, set up effective Labor market information systems, establishing industry Academia Interface and Standardization of training process and certification.  With Mr. Mohit Soni as COO and Mr. Subash Ghai as Chairman, MESC is looking at a revolution and evolution of the educational system in India with emphasis on Skill Based Knowledge and Development.

Shri Shankarlal Sundarbhai Shasun Jain College for Women, founded by the Sri SS Jain Education Society in 2005 has been an educational edifice that challenges International Standards in Education and Learning.
