Diyva Sathyaraj has been appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador of Akshaya Patra which is a non – profit organization based in Bengaluru. Diyva Sathyaraj is a popular nutritionist in the city and also runs a clinic of her own. She also happens to be the daughter of our very own actor Sathayaraj.
The organisation’s website says that it “strives to eliminate classroom hunger by implementing the Mid-Day Meal Scheme in the government schools and government-aided schools. Alongside, Akshaya Patra also aims at countering malnutrition and supporting the right to education of socio-economically disadvantaged children. Since 2000, Akshaya Patra has been concerting all its efforts towards providing fresh and nutritious meals to children on every single school day”.
Former U.S President Barack Obama had extended his support towards Akshaya Patra Foundation by appreciating the efforts of the organization. Divya Sathyaraj has released a statement in which she says, “There is no excuse for children to go hungry in any country. Hunger is not an issue of charity, but an issue of justice. No child should be unaware of where their next meal is coming from.”
