CHENNAI 22st May 2026: Sri Siva Vishnu Charitable Trust today launched a historic new book, “En Nenju Niraya Pugunthaar: Sri Kanchi Mahaperiyavaalum Ekambaramaagiya Naanum (Part 2)”. Authored by Sri. Ekambaram, a close confidant who dedicated his life to the service (kainkaryam) of the Sage of Kanchi, the book offers an intimate, firsthand account of one of the most spiritually significant journeys of the 20th century. The chosen Venue was Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Mahaswami Hall (Vani Mahal), Sri Thyaga Bhrama Gana Sabha, T. Nagar, Chennai.
Capturing a Historic Spiritual Journey
The book focuses on the monumental padayatra (spiritual walking pilgrimage) undertaken by Sri Kanchi Mahaswami Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Swamigal-the revered 68th pontiff of the Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam.
Between 1978 and 1984, at the advanced age of 84, Mahaswami traversed 3,860 kilometers over six years, walking from Kanchipuram to Satara. As a constant companion on this grueling yet divine journey, Sri. Ekambaram meticulously chronicles:
Unseen Moments: Detailed narrations of everyday events, divine interventions, and interactions during the six-year pilgrimage.
Devotee Blessings: Moving accounts of the Mahaswami camping in remote villages and towns, blessing thousands of seekers along the way.
Rare Imagery: A curated collection of rare, historical photographs taken during the padayatra, published together for the first time.
“This book is more than a memoir; it is a vital historical record of the Mahaswami’s boundless grace and endurance, giving readers a front-row seat to a sacred journey that transformed countless lives.”
Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetathipathi Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal has kindly given his anugraham for release of this book.
