A.M. Jain College Hosts 50th Graduation Day; 1,461 Students Graduate

Chennai, April 18, 2026: Agurchand Manmull Jain (A.M. Jain) College marked a historic milestone in its legacy of academic excellence by hosting its 50th Graduation Day Ceremony for the Self-Financed Programme, celebrating the academic achievements of 1,461 graduating students from diverse undergraduate and postgraduate disciplines, including over 34 university rank holders who secured positions within the top 10 ranks of 2024 batch.

Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai, former Director of the ISRO Satellite Centre, graced the occasion today as the chief guest and presented certificates to the graduating students. Held across three sessions over two days (April 17 and 18), the earlier convocation sessions featured Justice Hari Parnthaman, former Puisne Judge of the Madras High Court, AMJC Alumni (1970 – 1976) and Mr. Kumar Rajagopalan, Vice President – Strategic Initiatives & Head of Operations at Dexian, AMJC Alumni (1984 – 1987) as chief guests.

*Mr. Udhan Kumar Chordia, Secretary; Mr. Hemant P. Chordia, Associate Secretary; Dr. M. M. Ramya, Dean; Dr. M. Ananthanarayanan, Vice Principal and Dr. R. Surekha, Deputy Dean, were present during the ceremony, which brought together hundreds of students, faculty, family members, and guests.*

The graduating cohort of 1,461 students represents a wide and diverse spectrum of disciplines under the self-financed stream, reflecting the college’s strong multidisciplinary academic vision. The programmes span the arts, commerce, science, and management streams, with offerings in areas such as criminology, public administration, commerce and finance, computer science and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and data science, as well as visual communication and tourism studies. The postgraduate cohort features advanced studies in computer science, visual communication, and tourism and travel management.

Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai congratulated the graduating students on their achievement and encouraged them to step into the future with confidence and a sense of purpose. He urged them to dream big, remain curious, and pursue innovation that creates meaningful impact, reminding them that true success lies not just in personal accomplishment, but in contributing to society through thoughtful and purposeful work.
