Chennai, November 18, 2020: ALERT, a voluntary non-profit organisation that empowers a common man to act In Case of Emergency to Save Lives, is organising the 4th edition of the “Alert Being Awards”, which is a unique recognition that honours humanity by awarding Good Samaritans, who have made a difference to individuals or the society at large, by impacting with prevention of trauma and saving lives.
A special category of nominations for the 4th edition of Alert Being Awards 2020 are also open to recognise the brave soldiers who came forward to help fight this battle against COVID, putting others’ lives before themselves. To honor these unsung heroes and support them in their valiant efforts, ALERT has introduced a new award category as a moment of glory to Corona warriors.
The Last date to submit the nominations for both the categories is December 15th, 2020.
Commenting on this initiative, V. M. Muralidharan (Mike), Chairman, ALERT, said ” With the tremendous response received in the past, we are excited to launch the fourth edition of the ALERT Being awards. The ALERT Being Award is not only a recognition of humanity in times of medical emergencies but it also is a platform to put the spotlight on any act of kindness and compassion that has resulted in saving or preserving or enabling human life with its dignity to thrive.”
Speaking about ALERT BEING AWARDS 2020, Ms Kala Balasundaram, Founder – ALERT, said “ Since its inception, ALERT Being Award served as an inspiration for common people, to learn First Aid and Emergency Care procedures to Save Lives, which is the mission of ALERT. In the present scenario the world is battling against the pandemic COVID 19. This year, the coveted annual event will also honor some real-life heroes who had risked their lives to save others from the impact of the pandemic.”
Distinguished members of the jury comprising of Mr. Md. Shakeel Akhtar IPS, DGP – Enforcement; Dr. J S Rajkumar, Chairman – LIMA; Nawabzada Mohammed Asif Ali, Dewan to Prince of Arcot; Ms. Veena Kumaravel, Founder – Naturals Group of Salons and Mr. Sujith Kumar, Founder – Maatram Foundation, will shortlist the awardees from the numerous inspirational heroes whose nominations have been received. These awardees will be honoured at the “ALERT BEING AWARDS 2020” ceremony scheduled in Chennai on 29th of January 2021.
