Chennai, 20 th February 2021: The Institute of company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has its headquarters at New Delhi and four regional offices at New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai. The Institute has 72 Chapters across India. ICSI has two overseas centres at Dubai, UAE and NewYork, USA. The Institute under “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas” has also signed MoUs with various universities/colleges in tier 2 and tier 3 cities where chapter offices are not present for establishing ICSI Study Centres, to guide students.
Shri Nagendra D. Rao, President and Shri Devendra V. Deshpande, Vice President of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) while addressing a press conference today stated that “ICSI has taken various initiatives including extensive career orientation, professional development programs, brand building, ICSI Digital revolution, Recognitions, Expanding Boundaries, Initiatives for Members, Initiatives for Students, Academic Collaborations, Social Initiatives, Fee waivers, extensive research projects, re-organization and infrastructure development, study of future role of CS and globalization of profession”.
ICSI DIGITAL REVOLUTION
E-Learning Revolution – The Institute completely transformed its remote learning landscape to real-time by rolling out various online short-term courses and free video lectures including e –Vidya Vahini, the online crash course, for its students, along with providing revision classes and conducting mock tests.

Recognition under Petroleum and Natural Gas regulatory Board (Gas Exchange) Regulations,2020 Appointment of Company Secretary as Compliance Officer in every Gas Exchange or Clearing Corporation.
EXPANDING BOUNDARIES
Inauguration of ICSI Overseas Centres in London, UK and Singapore – With the objective of promoting and developing the Company Secretary Profession across the globe, ICSI set up its ICSI Overseas Centres in London, UK on 24th August 2020 and Singapore on 19th December 2020. The Centres would augment professional opportunities for ICSI members and facilitate practical training for students, besides assisting ICSI in conducting its examinations in these countries.
INITIATIVES FOR MEMBERS
Webinars- The Institute has been conducting a series of focused webinars during the last 6-7 months for its members to up skill their capabilities, enhance their knowledge base and unlock the professional opportunities during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
ICSI RVO – Online Course on Valuation of Securities or Financial Assets – Considering the need for and growing demand of Registered Valuers, ICSI-RVO introduced 50 hours Online Education Course on ‘Valuation of Securities or financial Assets’ for not just members From the CS Fraternity but also for professionals from
other Institutes.
Corporate Secretary’s Tool Kit Training Programme -The ICSI Corporate Secretary’s Tool Kit Training Programme is organised by the Institute in association with Corporate Secretaries International Association (CSIA) and International
Finance Corporation (IFC). The programme is aimed at developing skill sets of the new age governance professionals and emphasises on their role in developing good corporate governance practices. It is practical guide for Company Secretaries.
ACADEMIC COLLABORATIONS
International Commerce Olympiad – MoU with Science Olympiad Foundation – In an attempt to create awareness about the profession of Company Secretaries among school Students, the Institute has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Science Olympiad Foundation for conducting International Commerce Olympiad recently.
ICSI Academic Connect – The Institute introduced the ICSI Academic Connect to collaborate with various IIMs, Universities and Institutions of national repute to impart knowledge and acuminate skills of students, academicians and professionals. Under the collaboration, the toppers of specific programmes of these Universities/Institutes will be awarded with ICSI Signature Award Gold Medal and a scholarship to pursue the Company Secretary Course.
