The Special Guest Dr. J. Radhakrishnan, Principal Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Tamil Nadu along with Krithika Radhakrishnan inaugurated the event.
The tournament was attended by 150 players from 22 districts including Chennai, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Vellore, Krishnagiri, Tiruvallur, Thiruvannamalai and Kallakurichi. Of these 11 men 5 women a total of 16 qualified to play in the national tournament.
11 Men’s name, district and weight category are as follows: – Murugan-Kallakurichi 49 weight category, Divakar-Ramanathapuram 54 weight category, M Sudhakar-Chengalpattu 54 weight category, G Saravanan-Nilgiris 59 weight category, M Ramachandran Coimbatore 59 weight category , Srivelmurugan-Madurai 65 Weight Division, M. Krishnamurthy-Chennai 65 Weight Division, Sanjay Kumar-Kallakurichi Junior 65 Weight Division,Mohanakrishnan- Kanchipuram Sub Junior 65 Weight Category, Mustafa Kamal Basha – Thiruvallor Junior 49 Weight Division, G. Nagarajan-Virudhunagar Senior 59 Weight Division .
5 Women’s name, district and weight category are as follows: -Gomati-Chennai 50 weight category, Nadia-Virudhunagar 55 weight category, Danam – Kallakurichi 55 weight category, Kasturi-Chennai 67 weight category, Yasoda-Kallakurichi 79 weight category.
All the 16 winners of the tournament have been selected to take part in the National Level Tournament to be held in Kolkata from March 18 to 20.
Power Lifting International and Asian Medal winner Mr. G. Ilangovan and Mr. T. Samaya Murali IRS Additional Commissioner of Customs attended the closing Ceremony function and presented certificates and medals to the winners.

Ganesh Singh – General Secretary, Chennai Para Sports Association and Tournament Organizer graced the occasion.
