Gleneagles Hospital Chennai and Association of Nurse Executives (India) Tamil Nadu Chapter, Attempt World Record with 2500+ Nurses Taking the Nurses’ Pledge

Chennai, 18th August 2024: In a historic and extraordinary event of nurses, Gleneagles Hospital Chennai in collaboration with the Association of Nurse Executives (India), Tamil Nadu Charter, is poised to set a new World Record as 2500 + nurses and nursing students from 146+ institutions, colleges and hospital unite in an unprecedented celebration of the nursing profession. Dr J Radhakrishnan, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government Cooperation, Food and Consumer Protection Department joined the momentous event as chief guest, where nurses came together to take the Nurses’ Pledge and form an inspiring nurses word art display of this year’s international nurse’s day 2024 theme: “Our Nurses. Our Future. The Economic Power of Care.”

This event is a tribute to the unwavering commitment, care, and service of nurses, who form the backbone of healthcare systems worldwide. Dr. Jothi Clara Michael, Director of Nursing, Gleneagles Healthcare India, IHH Healthcare, Founder ANEI has led this event and the nurses pledge to reiterate professional values involving involved 2,500+ nurses forming a human chain under the theme “OUR NURSES, OUR FUTURE: THE ECONOMIC POWER OF CARE,” and collectively taking the nursing oath on 18th August 2024 at Gleneagles Health City, Chennai.

The focus this year, encapsulated in the theme “Our Nurses. Our Future. The Economic Power of Care,” highlights the vital role nurses play not just in patient care but also in driving healthcare economies forward. As part of International Nurses Day 2024, the collaboration aims to shine a spotlight on the economic and social contributions of nurses, emphasizing their pivotal role in ensuring the well-being of communities. This world record was recognized by the Einstein World Record Institute.
