Embark on an armchair cultural and culinary journey across India – Bombay Brasserie College Road reopens doors with a fresh look and an all-new menu
Chennai:
Situated in a beautiful colonial style bungalow in Nungambakkam on College Road, Bombay Brasserie has reopened its doors after a short break and is back with a fresh look and an all-new menu, both inspired by the rich diversity of Indian regions, cultures and cuisines, reimagined with a contemporary flair. The new menu will be available at the newly refurbished College Road outlet as well as the Adyar location of the brand.
The sprawling transparent glass house seating is the main highlight of the space that encompasses a vibrant handmade kite lighting feature suspended from the double height ceiling painting a buoyant picture of India’s spirited and multi-cultural harvest season. A tribute to the locals’ love for the heartwarming, chicory-laced brewed coffee can be seen on our beautiful kaapi wall with a collection of quintessential South Indian style coffee tumblers traditionally called, brass ‘debaras’. Take a moment to marvel at the Incredible India wall adorned with a series of picture frames representing India’s rich history through paintings, maps and recipe books. With a prolific heritage of handcrafted and hand painted wooden dolls, an entire wall is dedicated to pay ode to this unique Indian craft.
The new food menu pays homage to many of India’s distinctive ingredients some of which are remote and sourced specially such as Black Stone Flower, Bhoot Jolokia, and many more from across the lengths and breadths of India, along with regional Indian specialties presented with our progressive spin. The menus’ latest Small Plates comprise of texture rich Hot Kadhi Samosa Chaat, South-inspired Mushroom Pepper Taco and a crunchy Street Fried Chicken. Hot Plates and Street Grills have additions like the street inspired Paraath Paneer, and Charminar Murg Boti. The Big Plates and Biryanis comprises of the unique Pulled Jackfruit Masala with Curried Butter Parotta, home-style garam masala inspired Punjabi Cooker Chicken and the Egg Tadka Biryani. New Desserts include the indulgent Chocolate Rocky Road and Bombay Ice Cream Sandwich. The old crowd favourites like Aam Papad Paneer, Kashmiri Naan Kebab, Naga Gosht Pepper Wings, Fiery Thecha Prawns, Paneer Sirka Pyaz, Mario’s Mango Prawns & Coconut Rice, Chatka Chhole Kulche, and Anglo-Indian Bread Pudding have also made it to the new menu.
The new desi mocktails list includes The Indian Rose – a spiced, and creamy version of the ruby coloured 90’s special rose syrup, Curry Leaf and Keri Mojito – a raw mango refresher with a curry leaf twist, and Satrangi Atrangi – a progressive spin on our everyday tea.
