Chennai, 23rd September 2022: Paterson Cancer Centre was opened in 2003 with a vision of “Cancer free society” under the blessings and foresight of then President Respected Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam. It was established to achieve its goal before 2030. Under the leadership Dr. S Vijayaraghavan, clinical Oncologist, the centre has been functioning for 19 years. September 22 of every year is celebrated as “Rose day”. Our centre aims at creating awareness among the public that cancer is curable, preventable and if screened early, can be cured easily.
Till today, more than 5700 cancer patients have been cured and sent home with a smiling face. Those who have been cured would share their experiences with the patients who are currently under cancer treatment on this day every year. A daily requirement kit would be provided to every patient each year.
This event was honoured by Shri.N. Chezhiyan, Regional head, Union Bank of India, Smt. Shweta Shukla, Branch manager Saidapet branch, Union Bank of India and Dr.Moorthy IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Tambaram.
Similar to this, Paterson centre has been running with the motto of cancer free society and he wished for its growth. Smt. Satya Rao, in her speech, said that the patients of Paterson centre had full confidence that their disease has been cured and left the centre with a positive outlook. The event was also graced by Shri. S.V Shekar, Shri. K. Madan Bob and Shri. Elroy Medows.
