Hotel Le Royal Meridien held its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Saturday, 15 December 2018. The traditional event which kicked off the Festive Season of long activities was held at the hotel lobby.
VJ Kiki Santhanu and Vj Rakshan joined as the chief guest for the evening, full of singing, great food and lots of festive spirit. Carols choir performed by the Indian Youth Villages Fellowship Children’s Home treated all guests to a series of Christmas carols to welcome the festive season.
Rev.Dr.J. George Stephen, Bishop of the Madras Diocese, CSI delivered a short speech followed by a prayer to welcome the colourful festive season, followed by the tree lighting together with Mr. Ganesh, general manager of Le Royal Meridien along with the 20 orphan kids from the Indian Youth Villages Fellowship Children’s Home.
During the event, guests enjoyed festive food and drinks while the kids were singing carols which filled the air with the festive spirit.
To capture the childish delight passions and traditional ritual of the Christmas season, Santa Claus appeared to light up the tree, greet everyone and spread the joy among families and friends by distributing gifts and candies to the little ones.
