Omega Healthcare in association with Agastya International Foundation,gifts innovative Science Centre to Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Ashok Nagar, Chennai

 

  • Around 1,400 children would benefit from the project with about 10,000 exposures in a year 
  • The Chennai-based science Centre is the second project in the state being undertaken by Omega along with AgastyaInternational Foundation, post its successful implementation in Trichy

Chennai, August 19, 2019: After successfully launching the first science Centre at Trichy in Tamil Nadu in 2018,Omega Healthcare Management Services Pvt. Ltd., in collaboration with Agastya International Foundation launched the‘Science Centre’ at the Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Ashok Nagar in Chennai,today. 

The sponsored Science Centre Laboratory will enable students to grasp the application of various scientific concepts, making the learning process more exciting. The laboratory has been scientifically-designed to spark curiosity and nurture creativity among children through hands-on practical education. It covers nearly 150+ science experiments and models in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Ecology, and Astronomy.

Launching the project,Mr. Gopi Natarajan, Co-Founder and CEO, Omega Healthcare, said,“While industry is changing rapidly, the need-of-the-hour is to create a stronger workforce nurtured right from their childhood in the fundamentals.  With the success of our first science Centre in Trichy, this initiative launched by Omega along with Agastya in Chennai has been formulated to help give childrena better tomorrow by exposing them to the latest facilities thatwill boost their practical knowledge.” 

The first science Centre at Trichy, set up in July 2018, received an impressive response. On the whole the science Centre achieved 11,970 student exposures and 306 teacher exposures in one year, with 52 schools visiting the Centre in just the last quarter.
